DM Civil

CCF National Earth and Training Awards

November 2015

On Friday 16th October, the Civil Contractors Federation (CCF) held their National Earth and Training Awards in Melbourne. DM Civil were finalists in 2 categories – Cert IV Trainee of the Year and the Earth Awards Category 2. We were represented by Steve Hall, Jason Toohey, Bruce Shaw and Russell Blakely.

As CCFWA’s winner for Cert IV Trainee of the Year (Civil Construction Supervision), Justin Hanley was put forward and selected as a national finalist in this category. Being selected as a finalist against other state winners across the country is recognition in itself but to win the award is an outstanding achievement by Justin.

Justin has exceled as a junior Supervisor with a real passion for pipelaying. It is well recognised within industry that there is a shortage of quality, skilled drainers and Justin is a strong advocate for developing drainers and offsiders within DM Civil. His humble and natural approach to people has seen Justin build strong, trusting relationships within his crew and with key project stakeholders.

Congratulation’s Justin! This award is well deserved.

DM Civil was also a finalist in the Earth Awards Category 2 for the Arthur Creek Dam outlet upgrade in Kununurra. Unfortunately we were unsuccessful in this very strong category but thank everyone involved in this project for their outstanding work.

These awards are not individual achievements. We take this opportunity to thank our entire team for embracing DM Civil’s core principles of being diverse, motivated and committed. We recognise our operations and supervisory team for their dedication to supporting and developing our next generation of leaders. Their transfer of knowledge and experience is valued. Our appreciation also extends to all crew members; the high quality of our projects cannot be achieved without them.
