Finalist at the 2014 Work Safety Awards

We are proud to have been a finalist at the recent Worksafe Work Safety Awards.

DM Civil submitted our Fall Arrest Platform, utilised to reduce the risk of falls and injuries to employees entering and exiting shored pits or concrete tanks.

Designed and fabricated in house, the platform is portable and can be transported to any site. It has the capacity to hold 3 people and 100kg of tools and equipment. There is a davit point for an emergency extraction crane (Pro-Man), slip-proof flooring, 3 self-closing gates and permanent anchor points for craneage. A ladder is also attached to the platform below a gate to provide safe access and egress to the floor of the excavation.

True to DM Civil’s philosophy, this achievement was as a result of a collaborative team effort. Our construction team recognised the need for a structure to ensure safe work procedures on site and communicated this to our SEQ Department. Our Engineers, Draftsman, Workshop Manager and welders designed and fabricated the platform. We congratulate and thank everyone involved in this process!
