With significant population growth in the Bullsbrook area, the wastewater treatment facility at Bullsbrook is to be decommissioned, with flows diverted to Ellenbrook.
DM Civil was engaged to carry out these works which include:
- Upgrade of the existing Bullsbrook North Avenue wastewater pumping station (BNPS) with additional storage;
- Construction of a new Type 90 wastewater transfer pumping station (TPS) with emergency storage;
- Construction of 8.2 km of sewer pressure main and gravity main from BNPS to the new TPS including a trenchless crossing of Great Northern Highway and 800m of trenchless crossings of existing waterways;
- Construction of 5.0 km of DN400 PE100 sewer pressure main from TPS to Rose Street, including the trenchless crossing of the ARC Rail track and 900m of trenchless crossings of existing waterways;
- Construction of 1.6 km of dual pressure main (DN400 and DN315) in a common trench from Rose Street to Chateaux Place including a dual trenchless (HDD) crossing of the Ellen Brook;
- Construction of 920 m of DN450 and DN600 GRP gravity sewer from Chardonnay Place to Millhouse Road SPS.
DMC worked with Water Corporation to offer an alternative design for the pipeline route to minimise vegetation clearing and to increase protection measures adjacent to the existing live water supply pipeline.
