DMCivil

Since DM Civil was founded in 1976, concrete work has often featured as a component in any contract, if not the key scope of works. Our concrete division provides an in-house capability to complete all requirements in performing complex stormwater, civil and building work scopes, in conjunction with our civil construction crews.

This allows DM Civil to offer a full turn-key service so that our clients can be confident that we are controlling all aspects of our contract, including programme and quality assurance.

Key Services of Concrete Construction

DM Civil has been constructing reinforced concrete water tanks since 1986 and as a Tier 1 Water Corporation contractor, we are building insitu-cast potable water tanks and appurtenances for main water supply storage.

Our engineering and concrete division teams are able to deliver an in-house construction capability for turnkey facilities that meet stringent standards required for public water supply facilities, including associated cast-in pipework and mechanical, electrical and SCADA components.

Structures associated with our tank building contracts may include booster pumping stations, valve complexes or electrical switchrooms. These additional concrete works are readily included in the main scope undertaken by our concrete division.

This internal concrete and building capacity also allows DM Civil to provide options to our infrastructure clients as well as other developers who have requirements for standalone industrial or commercial concrete undertakings.

Having in-house capacity for concrete and allied building works allows DM Civil to maintain quality standards and to control project programme, and therefore the ability to deliver turnkey packages to the client on time.

Our concrete division is equally important to internal scopes of work to support our pipeline crews by constructing pits and pads for valve complexes and other mechanical installations that are required in pipeline designs.

As a Tier 1 Water Corporation service provider, DM Civil is able to deliver sewer pipework in any size up to Trunk Sewers. This class of large bore pipework requires large access chambers at terminations and changes of direction and inevitably, large volume concrete construction. This may be in-situ cast or precast or a combination of both. DM Civil is registered to form and pour insitu cast chambers and to supply precast plastic lined chambers as a part of any sewer contract.

In the course of our larger stormwater drainage construction projects, we are often required to construct in-situ cast inlet and outlet structures. This may be at large bore pipe crossings or box culvert bridges over water courses. DM Civil can construct the precast crossing, the insitu-cast headwalls and wingwalls, concrete apron with toe protection and upstream and downstream scour protection beyond the crossing.

A regular task for the DM Civil concrete division, is the construction of thrust restraints for pressure pipework, either water or wastewater. DM Civil has also carried out campaigns for strengthening of existing restraint arrangements to reinforce ageing trunk mains or for mains that require a higher service pressure or reclassification for water hammer events.
