The WorkSafe Plan provides formal recognition of our occupational safety and health system. Assessments are undertaken by an independent assessor, and WorkSafe Plan Certificates of Achievement may be awarded by WorkSafe to organisations providing they meet certain requirements. Our safety, environment and quality successes have been recognised with the receipt of numerous awards and a further testament to our commitment to safety – we have won CCF Workplace Health & Safety Award for the last three consecutive years (2013, 2014 & 2015).
DM Civil have three Core Principles under which we operate our business: Diverse, Motivated and Committed. One key aspect of operations that DMC is “Committed” to is Safety. DMC has a positive safety culture, with all aspects of the organisation actively involved in contributing to DMC’s growing safety culture and practices.
The Safety, Environmental & Quality (SEQ) Department has expanded to a team of six full-time employees under and including the SEQ Manager. The department’s members cover a broad range of SEQ responsibilities and duties to ensure all aspects of DMC’s operations are compliant with internal, client and regulatory standards. The SEQ Department has a constructive relationship with all levels of the company, both at management and site levels.
DMC achieved certification to AS/NZS 4801:2001 – OSH Management Systems in 2007. DMC has maintained this accreditation without a single nonconformance report being raised against its system during the past nine years by external auditors. DMC also hold certifications to AS/NZS ISO 9001:2015, Quality and AS/NZS ISO 14001:2015, Environment.

An important element of DMC Safety Management System (SMS) is the Safety Management Plan (SMP). This incorporates 40 chapters which provide clear guidelines to Project Management crew’s on their responsibilities for various aspects of our SMS.
The SEQ Department carry out regular internal audits of their projects to ensure the SMP is being followed on all sites. Any findings are transferred onto the site Corrective Action Register and closed off when the finding has been actioned.
