DM Civil

Official Platinum WorkSafe Accreditation Presentation

June 2016

Tuesday 7th June 2016 marked a significant accomplishment for all our SEQ and operational teams at DM Civil, where by Stephen Hall, our Managing Director, received the official Platinum WorkSafe Certificate of Achievement from the Commissioner for WorkSafe WA, Mr Lex McCulloch.

Mr McCulloch, explained the essential and ever-evolving role of SEQ in the WA industry, its integral role within business culture and how receiving the Platinum Award reflects the ongoing commitment DM Civil has to OSH. The presentation was held at our main office, in the presence of DM Civil team members, as well as two special guests, Sue Murphy who is the CEO of the Water Corporation and Lou Roberts who is the Corporation’s Safety, Environment and Aboriginal Affairs Manager. We were grateful that Ms. Murphy was able to be part of this presentation, especially in recognition of her tireless work for the Corporation and the introduction of initiatives such as OHS forums, which help to involve and encourage construction companies in safety improvements.

After the presentation, guests were shown around the DM Civil facilities and returned to the Board Room for light refreshments and reviews with the SEQ team members.

Having received our Gold Certificate only 12 months prior, our SEQ team showed initiative and an understanding that only minor improvements were required to our Health and Safety Management Systems to achieve this latest accreditation. An independent assessor carried out assessments and DM Civil had to meet the strictest WorkSafe criteria to achieve this Platinum standard.

DM Civil now officially join an exclusive group of companies that have achieved Platinum status. This certification is valid for two years but we are committed to the mantra of “continual improvement” and believe we can always further develop our systems to ensure they meet the needs of our employees and clients. We take pride in our high performing and positive SEQ procedures and we will continue to improve our industry-leading safety culture.
